Reiki

Reiki, pronounced 'Ray-Key' is an ancient form of natural healing and spiritual awakening, developed by Dr Mikao Usui.  Reiki stands for 'Universal Life Force Energy' and it is this energy that flows through all living things.  When this energy is unable to flow through the body because of illness or negative experiences, we become unwell.

Dr Mikao Usui developed Reiki from ancient Buddhist teachings.  He dedicated his life in Japan to studying, practising and teaching Reiki.  Following tradition, Reiki is passed down from Reiki Masters to students, through specific initiation rites, allowing students to be attuned to Reiki.

A Reiki Practitioner that has been attuned to Reiki acts as a channel, drawing healing energy through their hands.  They gently place their hands on or over the body, balancing areas of blocked energy.  By allowing energy to flow through the body it is then able to function effectively, aiding Total Wellbeing.

Reiki Practitioners create a safe healing space that the recipient can use to obtain balance in their lives.  The whole person is treated but the Reiki energy flows to the area it is most needed.  Reiki is a gentle, non-intrusive treatment.

Reiki healing is holistic working physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Reiki also complements and enhances conventional medicine and natural therapies.  Reiki Practitioners do not diagnose or give medical advice but are a channel for the energy, not the source of the energy.  There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive it.  The only pre-requisite is the desire to be healed.

I found myself drawn to Reiki in 2006.  I experienced it myself during a week-end away at a health farm with friends and have not looked back since.  I am a fully qualified Reiki Master in the Usui system of Reiki Healing and I hope that I can bring Reiki to you.

I am a UK Reiki Federation member http://www.reikifed.co.uk/ and have a clear enhanced criminal records bureau check (CRB).  I enjoy keeping myself updated.
